Mechanical Skid Design Engineer

*JOB DESCRIPTION*

- *Position:* Mechanical Skid Design Engineer
- *Work experience:* 5 to 8 years
- *Education Qualification:* B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
- *Mode of employment:* Full-Time Regular
- *Modality:* This is a work from office position – (no work from home option)
- *Job location:* Bangalore - Located in Brigade Tech Park Whitefield.

*I. Role:*
This job is placed in Bangalore office. The role requires working with international customers from industrial steel mill equipment and industrial products domain spread across the globe. The job role involves supporting the design and development activities of industrial machinery and products. The design includes making a design intuitive 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings at various levels. It is also expected a thorough understanding of the basic engineering principles of the products and the application of design philosophies making them configured to new functional and non-functional requirements.

*II. Responsibilities:*
1) Understand the commercial refrigeration products and their functionalities.
2) Collect the inputs in coordination with various stakeholders.
3) Create 3D CAD models in line with best industry practices in the absence of customer standards.
4) Design the parts for various manufacturing processes like sheet metal, plastic moulding, casting, fabrication, machining etc.
5) Create manufacturing drawings of various levels, part, sub-assy, assembly, layouts, GA etc.
6) Capable of developing 3D surfaces using various surface creation/edit options – matching them to fit within the model tolerances.
7) Comply with internal execution process that includes SOPs, Checklists etc.
8) Participate in customer calls/meetings wherever involved in understanding the product/project requirements thoroughly.
9) Raise the questions in case of ambiguity avoiding the assumptions of own.
10) Play a role of constructive and collaborative team member of the team.

*III. Domain and Tools:*
a) Industrial products of commercial refrigeration and freezing equipment
b) Skid design for the equipment that include mechanical, electrical and hydraulic units
c) Configuration design for these equipment
d) Experience in Hydraulic/Pneumatic for refrigeration and freezing equipment
e) Any of CAD tools like Solidworks, Autodesk Inventor, UG-NX, Creo etc.

*IV. Skills:*
a) Ability to understand and create modular process units for refrigeration and freezing units.
b) Developing good working relationships with the team and inter multi-disciplinary groups.
c) Excellent 3D modelling skills using various surface creation/editing options
d) Experience in creating manufacturing drawings complying with ISO, ASME, DIN, EU Standards
e) Thorough knowledge on GD&T and its applications on the engineering drawings
f) Good drawings / blue prints reading skills
g) Proactive in collecting the inputs
h) Collaborative and supportive on knowledge sharing with the team members
i) Excellent communication skills
j) Good coordination and negotiation skills
