DescriptionRole Overview
We are looking for an experienced MBSE Lead with strong technical expertise in Model Based Systems Engineering, Systems Engineering, SysML, requirements management, system architecture and automotive product development, along with proven capability in project, customer and resource management.
The candidate will be responsible for leading end-to-end MBSE projects, managing project schedules and resources, and acting as the primary technical interface with customers and stakeholders.
The role requires a combination of hands-on MBSE knowledge and strong project leadership capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead implementation of MBSE methodologies across automotive engineering programs.
- Define and establish MBSE modelling approaches, processes, standards and guidelines.
- Establish traceability between requirements, architecture, design, verification and validation.
- Support system decomposition and allocation across mechanical, electrical, electronics, software and control domains.
- Drive model-based verification and validation activities.
- Review technical quality and consistency of engineering models.
- Support digital engineering and digital-thread initiatives.
2. Project Management
- Own overall project planning, execution, monitoring and delivery.
- Define project scope, WBS, milestones, deliverables and resource requirements.
- Prepare and maintain project schedules and execution plans.
- Monitor project progress against scope, schedule, quality and budget.
- Conduct periodic project reviews and prepare management dashboards.
- Ensure timely delivery of technical and project milestones.
- Manage change requests, scope changes and project escalations.
- Drive continuous improvement in project execution.
3. Resource Management
- Plan and manage MBSE / Systems Engineering resources based on project requirements.
- Build and manage teams comprising:
- Systems Engineers
- MBSE Engineers
- Requirements Engineers
- Allocate resources based on technical competency and project priorities.
- Monitor resource utilization and productivity.
- Identify skill gaps and initiate training/upskilling programs.
- Manage resource ramp-up and ramp-down based on project demand.
- Support recruitment and technical evaluation of MBSE engineers.
4. Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary technical/project interface for customers.
- Understand customer requirements and translate them into executable project plans.
- Conduct customer reviews and technical discussions.
- Present project status, risks, resource plans and technical achievements.
- Manage customer expectations and escalations.
- Build long-term relationships with engineering and program stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for project expansion and additional engineering services.

7–12 years overall experience, with:
- 5+ years in Systems Engineering / MBSE
- 3+ years in project/team leadership
- Automotive product development experience preferred
- Experience managing 10–30+ engineering resources preferred
- Customer-facing project experience preferred
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should be a technical MBSE leader who can also operate as a Project Manager.
The person should be comfortable discussing system architecture and SysML models with engineers while simultaneously managing customers, project schedules, resources, risks, budgets and delivery commitments.
